The Chenrezig amulet is made of an image of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshwara) and Avalokiteshwara Mantra (Om Mani Padme Hum) which are rolled up with a colorful thread and sealed in a protective plastic cover.
An amulet is a wearable object that is believed to have magical powers to bring good luck (energetic, sacramental effect) and protect against harm. Tibetan amulets are more than just a piece of jewelry. They require respectful handling. You can wear the amulet on your body (as a pendant) or put it under your pillow or in your car to be blessed by its effect.
Avalokiteshwara, also known as Chenrezig in Tibetan Buddhism, is a bodhisattva, or enlightened being, in Mahayana Buddhism. He is regarded as the embodiment of compassion and is one of the most revered figures in Buddhist cosmology. He is often depicted with multiple arms and heads, symbolizing his ability to reach out to and help many beings simultaneously.
