What else belongs to a complete meditation practice?
A meditation practice consists of more than a singing bowl and a cushion. It is the small things that make the difference. The mat you sit on. The blanket you put over your shoulders when the body settles and the temperature drops. The timer that ends the sitting without startling the mind. The cloth that protects the mala when it is not in use.
These things are rarely bought first. They come with time, as the practice deepens and your own needs become clearer. Then you notice that a soft mat under the knees makes the sitting noticeably more comfortable. That a light blanket of wool or cashmere helps concentration, because the body is no longer working against the cold. That a simple, stable striker rest makes playing the singing bowl easier.
In this category you will find all those companions that need no great explanation but still hold a settled place in a mature meditation practice. Mats and pads in natural materials, meditation blankets in wool and cashmere, strikers and accessories for singing bowls, storage pouches for malas and ritual objects, and other carefully chosen aids.
We have used and tested each of these pieces ourselves. At tibet-markets.ch we take even the smallest thing seriously. Because a practice that feels good is a practice that lasts.
