Meditation & Stillness

Stillness is not a state you reach. It is something you invite. The pieces in this category accompany you on this path: singing bowls, prayer beads, incense, prayer wheels and much more. All made by Tibetan craftspeople, all with a history older than any technique.

What does meditation really need?

Many people ask themselves this question: those who are beginning to meditate, and those who have meditated for years and still feel that something is missing. The answer that comes from the Tibetan tradition is surprisingly simple: nothing, except the will to become still. And perhaps a piece that supports this will.

In the Tibetan meditation tradition, objects have played a role for centuries. Not as a substitute for inner work, but as quiet companions. A singing bowl that marks the beginning and end of a session. A mala that keeps the hand occupied so the mind can become free. Incense that invites the transition from everyday activity into stillness. A meditation cushion that gives the body support so the mind can relax.

These objects are not decorative. They are functional. They have a task: to accompany the practitioner into stillness and hold them there.

At tibet-markets.ch we offer pieces that emerged from this tradition. Singing bowls, hand-hammered by craftspeople in the Kathmandu Valley. Malas made from carefully selected materials, knotted according to traditional measures. Incense from natural resins and herbs, following traditional Tibetan recipes. Meditation cushions made from durable natural materials.

We are Tibetans ourselves and know this tradition from within. What we offer, we have held in our own hands. Many pieces we have known since childhood. This is not a sales promise. This is our story.

If you meditate, you probably know the difference between a session that feels laborious and one that carries itself. It is often the outer things that make this difference: a quiet room, a fixed time, a familiar ritual. A piece from this category can become part of that ritual.
