Bracelets & Lucky Cords

In the Tibetan tradition, a bracelet is more than jewellery. It is a daily companion on the wrist that recalls an intention. The best known is the red lucky cord: according to Tibetan custom, it is knotted as a blessing and passed on, and it is worn until it comes off by itself. Our lucky cords are braided by hand, some with knots, an eye symbol or a Dzi bead.

Copper and brass bangles often carry a mantra such as Om Mani Padme Hum, a dorje, the Eight Auspicious Symbols or the flower of life. Bracelets of rudraksha, wood or stone beads follow the model of traditional prayer beads: worn as a wrist mala, they accompany you through the day and can be passed through the fingers bead by bead for mantras and quiet moments.

The copper and brass bangles and the braided lucky cords are handcrafted by Tibetan artisans in the Himalayas, so no two are exactly alike. Most bracelets are adjustable or stretchy and fit almost any wrist, which also makes them a good gift. If you prefer to wear mantra and symbol on your finger, you will also find them on our rings.
