A new home, a new chapter of life, a new relationship, a new job or a graduation: a fresh start is among the most meaningful moments in life. It deserves more than a token gift: something that honours the transition and gives something lasting for the road ahead. In Tibetan culture, such transitions have been accompanied by rituals and objects for centuries.

Prayer flags are a classic housewarming gift. Hung on a balcony, terrace or in the garden, they carry prayers and good wishes on the wind in all directions, according to Tibetan tradition. For a personal fresh start, something worn every day is a good fit: a braided lucky cord, knotted as a blessing and passed on, a copper or brass bangle with a mantra or dorje, or a mala bracelet of stone, wood or seeds.
