Aromatic Lavender Dhoop Incense

Lavender Dhoop is an aromatic incense from Nepal with the clear, floral fragrance of lavender and a subtle woody note. The sticks are shaped without a bamboo core and consist entirely of incense paste, so that only the blend itself smoulders as it burns. The light, fresh fragrance unfolds gently in the room without becoming overpowering. Whether for meditation, a quiet hour in the evening or as an offering on your home altar, this incense accompanies you in moments of calm.

In Tibetan Buddhism, incense, called Pö in Tibetan, is one of the eight traditional offerings on the home altar (Chokshom). The rising fragrance is offered to the Buddhas and is at the same time an invitation to pause. Many practitioners light a stick at the beginning of meditation or prayer to create a calm setting and gather the mind. With its clear, light fragrance, Lavender Dhoop fits well into this practice.

Place the stick in an incense holder or in a bowl filled with sand or ash. Light the tip, let it burn briefly, then extinguish the flame with a gentle wave of the hand so that only the ember keeps glowing. In Tibetan tradition, offerings are not blown out with the breath. As Lavender Dhoop has no bamboo core, holders with a small opening are particularly suitable. For a shorter session, you can also break a stick in half.
