Red Crystal Incense, Original from Drikung Kagyü Monastery

Red Crystal is a traditional Tibetan incense, hand-made by the Drikung Kagyü Monastery in South India. Its blend of 23 plant-based ingredients comes from the high regions of Tibet, Kulu, Manali and Sikkim, as well as from the forests and plains of India. The fragrance lingers in the room long after the stick has burned down. Whether for meditation, for prayer or as a quiet offering on your home altar, this incense accompanies you in moments of calm and focus.

In Tibetan Buddhism, incense, called Pö in Tibetan, is one of the eight traditional offerings placed on the home altar (Chokshom). The rising fragrance is offered to the Buddhas and is at the same time an invitation to pause. Many practitioners light a stick at the beginning of meditation or prayer to create a calm setting and gather the mind. In this way, a simple everyday gesture becomes a small moment of mindfulness.

Place the stick in an incense holder or in a bowl filled with sand or ash. Light the tip, let it burn briefly, then extinguish the flame with a gentle wave of the hand so that only the ember keeps glowing. In Tibetan tradition, offerings are not blown out with the breath. As Red Crystal has no wooden core, you can also break a stick in half for a shorter meditation.

Store the sticks in a dry place away from direct sunlight, ideally in their original packaging. This keeps the fragrance fresh for a long time. Incense sticks without a wooden core are somewhat more fragile, so please handle them with care. Never leave burning incense unattended, place it on a heat-resistant surface and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Briefly air the room after burning incense.
